Ok basicaly all I had to do was use a different browser 
my blogroll is now working!
Also so this post isn't wasted heres a pic of the big squid I'm working on (unfinished)
the shoe is a size 41 EU -hopefully that gives some sort of scale 
(thats roughly 9 uk size)
