This time my soundtrack was Serge Gainsborough (a very guilty pleasure) on the A side & on the B side The housemartins (I love old home recorded cassettes!)
when I left my house I was feeling a bit melancholic, & put on some Serge to pander to my mood- There seemed to be a bit of Pathetic falacy going on as the light made the colours seem slightly subdued giving an almost sepia feel... the way everything seemed so complimentary cheered me up a bit, especialy as my bicycle wouldn't be too out of place in a similar film noir setting!
Anyways -got to party 'twas enjoyable..but a bit subdued -left early as have to go to work early tomorrow (why am I writing this post then?)
Return journey- put on serge again, now complimented by the yellowish glow of the street lights. Drifted along on my bicycle musing about different things; felling guilty that I haven't written to my penpall for about a month
-actually I feel realy bad about that, but my life has been so mad & I've got tons to write about, but I want to sit down & do a good job on it not rush it. Still I'll probably have some time on saturday as I'm off to Birmingham in the afternoon so I wont be doing anything in the morning...
Cycled across the common, tryed to have a conversation with a fox- but he just looked back puzzled (evidently he doesn't speak french, although mine isn't great so that might have been part of it
Also he was rather a hansome looking one, not like some of the mangy ones you often get!)
`Then II realised my leson for the evening- don't hug people wearing too much glitter it is contagious! my arms have been peppered with glitter! -I don't mind a tiny bit of it on my cheeks at partys, but going home, especialy early- I'm not so keen on it. -Learn from my mistakes dear friends!
Got to the end of the common tape finished, turned it over & listened to the Housemartins for the rest of my journey- got in, fed cat, brushed teath, wrote blog, going to bed
-night night!
I like your musings pheobsky and the music references. Any blog which name checks Serge Gainsborough, The Housemartins and Kraftwerk has got to be OK in my book.
I'm going to add you to my blogroll. If you like my (very new) blog, perhaps you'd return the compliment?
