Ok my last few post have been a bit pointless so I thought Id put something a bit more philosophical for a change(even though Ive got my 1st AS-level exam tomorow) XX(

Belief

1) The only (in my opinion) successful* proof for existence that we have so far is the cogito.
2) However we may not deny that we receive sense data
3) Therefore we must conclude that this also exists even if the objects represented do not in the form we believe them to.
4) But if we do not know that these illusions are false, what difference is there for us?
Why not accept this evidence we are provided with, not as certain but as justified by our belief.

To illistrate this, suppose a man truly believes in færies.
We cannot justifie their existence to ourselves, but to him they exist no matter what proof we put before him. Surely there is no difference whether they exist in the “real” world or not because, all he may know is what he believes. The only point I’m making here is, ultimately ‘believe in belief’ as it is all we have.
(note: this is not necessary in a religious sense but a philosophical one for everyday use!)

*also just to say Im ready to justifie the cogito against arguments - the failier of the cogito I somthing I do not see as successful & Im prepared to (try) & solve any problem anyone has with it :b
