  • Caffine...

Well I've been awake since half twoish, presumably due to the caffine I consumed earlier.  Anyway after musing for a while and having a brief conversation with the cat I turned to the internet to fill the time; the result was descovering this album:
    http://www.last.fm/music/Fever+Ray/Fever+Ray
It may be partly due to a lack of sleep, but it is one of the most wonderfull mellow albums I have heared recently. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I highly recomend listening to it; is comfterble enough to lull your mind while you are listening, while also being a wonderfull album in it's own right worthy of more attention than this sleep deprived boy can muster up right now. Anyway Good night to you all I'm going to try and get a bit more sleep -sleep well.

  • £345 and yes I am willing to give you my pin

My blog is worth $2.41 Billion.
    How much is yours worth?

heh heh heh -what a lie :D

  • Vauge plans:

I'm currently lieing in bed with a mild hangover pondering about all manor of things- however all more important things (ie: big long scary essay) have sudenly flown out of my muzzy headed chain of thought upon remembering that there will be a crazy neon themed event soon....
I need ideas on what to wear- my mind ambles through winding gullys and metaphysical ponytracks. over the rails and pause to watch while a previous train of thought rushes past. have  quick picknic in the receses of my mind- then suddenly when I'm least expectinf it the idea strikes! dropping like a bolt from above it hits me and I'm left realing! I have a marvelous solution:
I shall buy a jumpsuit and tie dye it! Acid green and neon pink it shall be! I shall truely be the most intensely  dressed there!
....although somehow I doubt it- it will be a cool thing if I get round to dyeing it, but there will inevitably be more neonly intensly OTToishly dresssed people. Still it'll be cool so hey-ho!

  • Don John and dancing :}

Not going too be too long a post as I'm getting an early night (given that its 11.3o on friday night) Anyways- I went to see an adaptation of Don Juan at the REP which was quite amazing! -It managed to be incredibly funny and make the whole audience laugh with gusto, while also being extremely poignant, sad, and at times abruptly shocking! Not only this, but it also managed to intertwine apt and excellent music and songs throughout.
A very breif summery: 'tis the seventies, things are largely in a dead end, workers are on strike, and the elecricity keeps going. Along comes "Don John" punkish, wild and, sexy. Seducing everyone and leaving a trail of destruction in his wake!
Anyway I highly recommend going to see it plus its free for anyone aged 14-26 such as me!

The most wonderfull thing for me that made the night was during the encore, when all the actors were dancing, me and a housemate stated dancing in one of the isles and were invited onto the stage -much coolness! I wish we'd shown off a bit more on the stage though, or at least taken a bow. Still I'm verry proud to say I danced in front of over a hundred people tonight

  • Snow!

Ok you may (or may not) be aware that there has been quite a lot of snow in the UK at the moment! Its all rather wonderful- also after having lost my keys a few days ago I haver finally sorted out a new bikelock, so I may cycle again! :>>
Cycling in the snow, can be a bit unstable however is also immensely satisfying! It helps that I've also manged to find the perfect tape- one side has «Belle an Sebastian» and the flipside is Morcheba -excellent!

A brief account of what it's like:
Cycling through my local park, I look around and there is this amazing white landscape, while the falling snow makes it impossible to see the city around- the refrains of «Belle an Sebastian» coo gently in my ear, while the wind whips countless feathers of snow past me, against me and all around me- the world slowly becomes whiter and whiter, all enveloping in this soft cold cocoon- then I reaalise that the snow has built up on my glasses and its not as thick as all that. Its still impressive, especially for the UK.

Oooh I forgotte to mension- I got to sled to uni the other day! -admitidly it was only a short part of the way, but still!

The bandstand in my local park:
    snow!

Also to give you an idea of how much snow there was- later on when I was cycling on proper roads, I almost fell off my bike as I hit the edge of a speedbump as it was submerged in snow- not visible on the surface! and due to the snow verry slippy!

    --edit--
OK I just read through that and realised how badly written it is- so I've made one or two minor changes, but I'm tied, and just wanted to put something new up to celebrate the snow...:zz:

  • GP's

Ok My world has all been rather crazy for a time, so I've not been updating (not that I'm very good at updating anyway) Ok so what has happened recently; well I've come back to uni, I mannaged to catch the mumps :`( although it was only a mild version that lasted for a week.
Apparently having the MMR jab doesn't completely protect you, it just meens that you don't get the full blown symptoms- still I had the puffy face et
all... Also I'd had the misfortune of leaving my pasport with my parents in London, and having no photo id. with me, meant it was impossible to sign up with a GP -curses!
You wouldn't believe how hard it is to see a doctor without id! I went into a drop in centre in the the centre of town, but the only people who could see me were nurses, who said they thought it was mumps, but couldn't officially classify it so I had to try and find another doctor- After being told to endlessly go to different places, to no avail- eventualy we were recomended to go to A&E So I made my way down there (in the mid morning so I wouldn't interfere with more serious cases) And although they confirmed it and gave advice- due to the nature of the ward they couldn't report the outbreak- still it was better than nothing :-/ I'm all signed up now- but it seems ridiculous that A&E is the only place I could go, which clearly shouldn't be having to deal with that sort of thing -anyway thats my rant for today:##

  • ENERGY DOME HAT (yes it actualy deserves capitalisation for all the words!)

    Look!
    http://www.clubdevo.com/mp/store.html
    Q: Are We Not Men?
    A: We Are Devo!

You can get the DEVO hats I am most impressed- I infact am amazed (Ie: 88| ) and would rather like one & yes I do believe it is something worth sharing with the world!

    devo hat

Anyway here is a video for you to listen to while you ponder the pure awsomeness of the hat! -Actauly its a verry optomistic song if you can catch some of the lyrics...

  • Ok the blog will keep on going :}

Ok firstly this is remaining my blog- false alarm I'm not moving it across....
Also I has knitted the hat:
    hat!
its quite big, but its warm & comfortable :>>
Also I have aquired a huge toffie crisp over a kilo in weight which was leftover from a party I was at last night (some peeps made it for the novelty- although they've done better thing like a giant kitkat) anyway hardly any of it was eaten so I'm slowly carving away at it wit a knife -yum yum!

  • new site?

Assorted muses may take on a new dimension and move here:
    http://assortedmuses.webs.com/index.htm
    I'll have to see how it goes, but I'm thinking of maybe putting up an agony aunt page, and getting one or two other authors to help out... I'm not saying anything is happening yet I'm just trying to work out how to run the thing to start with ;}

    Also much knitting has occured- I've knitted a hat which ended up rather oversize! but a second attempt in green should work a bit better :}

  • An hour to kill...

Ok heres the story; I arived an hour earlier to uni than I usualy do -why? I had volenteered to put up posters for a fasion show (hopefully enough tickets will be sold :-/ ) However the master copy that I'm photocopying from & the photocopyer I can use for free are in a room that will not be opened untill 11.00 halfway through my lecture... & the reception's best advice was 'wait' -bleh

Anyway if I have time, I'll try & get it done later.

On the bright side, my walkman has suddenly decided to work again! Hurrah! So lots of listening is happening ;D I've also just recieved a CD that I got one of my housemates to order for me: 'King of the bongo' by mano negra -tis good! I'm also trying to get someone to order me these 3: Velocifero -Ladytron, 76/77 Cobra-Killer &,Man-Machine -Kraftwerk.
    I hope I can get them :o

Its quite likely that you know the already but if you dont, or if you feel like listening Here they are on Last FM: Ladytron, Cobra killer &, Kraftwerk!

  • The cold cold ground...

Tis hard to get thick wool here (at the market anyway) so heigh ho! if it comes to it I'll just get some thin gauge wool & take a bit longr to knit- I'm thinking I'll probably knit some legwarmers as they're pretty simple & I'll definitely be able to use them! Luckily today my house has been relitively warm -I've also invested in some fingerless glove, so that I can type/write in my room without getting frozen hands. I've also set up a 'kotasu' like arrangement with radiator & my table so my legs are warm! Before my radiator had no effect on my room so its definitely an improvement!
D*mn my house is freezing! I sleep under a duvet & 6 blankets & I'm still chilly at night! Even with the heating it is only vaugely wrm while it's turned on -once it's off its soon icy again! At least our frontroom is warm -I suppose I shouldn't complain..

Anyways I should be getting on with work; maybe I'll tell you about my crazy angsty weekend, where I was the "house mum" despite being the youngest

  • Curses!

My camera needs new batteries so I can't post any pictures! Also I had to change to linux so I could get internet & my webcam doesn't yet work with it!
    Bleh.
Also bad habits are comming back -I've started drinking honey again which probably isn't great... but my house is so cold & I need the energy! not to mension that it tastes sooo good.
Oh well...I'm not going to do anythoing about it so I can't complain
I think I shall get some wool & knit myself something soon

  • title-4876862

Ok its a while since I've written & with good reason; I've had
horrible internet access -& it hasn't been able to connect most of the time, however one of my housemates put ubuntu on mi computer, which seems to have sorted out the connection problems I was having :>>

Anyways now onto the more serious buisness of writing this blog:
Firstly I must announce that the squid bag is finished, but photos areyet to come. I have also had a haircut *shock horror!* from just below shoulder length to now this long:
    C'est moi

but it wasn't as much of a shock as you might expect, as I cut it from below waistlenth to a short bob at the begining of the summer- still its the first time I've had short hair since I was about 12....
    --edit--
I thought it might amuse you to know that the haircut intended was meant to be a floppy, "not quite emo but in that ilk" sort of haircut, but ass my hair is too thick it simply refuses to flop -I'm not actually so sure thats a bad thing ^^ Also its the 1st time I've ever been into a proper hairdressers that I can remember- I've always had friends or parents cut it before this!
    --end of edit--
Anyways here's the tune I think you should all listen to; unfortunately I have it not on tape, but it's a d*mn good song ^^

Also on the subject of tapes, my walkman has partialy died & won't play properly :**: but we've got a fairly good tape player in the front room of me house so all is groovy :P

    Xx

  • I'm back!

OK I have internet once again :} This is mainly as I have a most marvelous new computing machine -a device called an Eee pc -its essentially the most tiny laptop you can get for a reasonable price. I have to say I still cant get over how sweet it is! its about 8 inches from front to back when closed &has a 7 inch screen- the keyboard's a bit on the small side, but I type fairly slowly, so its not such a big deal. The only issue is that it doesn't have terribly much memory(4GB), so I'm going to try & save as much as I can to USB- however aside from music the only things I'm likely to store on it are word documents, so not too much space taken up there. It's portable, its cute, I can type up work on it & peruse the internet with it- it does everything I need -in short I <3 mi eeepc!
Oh also I thought I might mention that I'm typing this on coach, which is an interesting experience for me as I've never used a computer on the move but it seems easy enough to do & surprisingly I haven't got travel sick!
On other matters I'm on my way back from London as I went home to see an exhibition by my mother at “Francis' hair fashions gallery”
Its a bit odd going home only two weeks after moving out, but I felt that it was an important occasion & would be silly to miss it! I think the oddest thing was meeting up with one of my friends in the day, as it was only when I was saying good bye to her that I felt like I'd really moved out of home I think its the most emotional I've felt about the whole moving out thing.... On a lighter note I'm brining my squid bag up to Birmingham with me so it should be finished fairly soon (only need to add eyes & a strap ^^ ooh & also I mi9ght get a piece in an eco/humanitarian fashion show, despite having relatively little to do with the fashion world (I'm studying chemistry!) Anyways we'll see how that goes -if I get something together in time hopefully all will be fruitfull- I thi9nk I'll probably make a shawl, hat & bag set, but then again I'll see how I do for time.

PS. does anyone know any good fabric shops in south Birmingham?
